The inspiration:

When I created Rejuvenating Oil, I was a young colorist and it felt like half of Hollywood was looking for solutions for dry, damaged hair. My big idea was to design a botanical oil treatment that worked in tandem with the natural oils on your scalp. I spent years experimenting with different blends in my kitchen until I hit on the perfect formula — light enough to sink into the hair fiber but also able to soften the heavy, waxy oils on the scalp and move them down the hair shaft. My goal was to even out the porosity/absorbency of the hair, so the ends no longer felt dry and color could absorb evenly and easily from roots to ends. But this went beyond that: It created an elegant sensory experience and gave damaged and post-colored hair a brilliant reboot.

How to use

Apply Rejuvenating Oil liberally to dry, unwashed hair, starting from the roots, and work it in with your fingers down to the ends. To help the oil sink in quickly, warm your hair with a blow dryer for one to two minutes.

Before wetting your hair, apply a generous dose of Peppermint Avocado Shampoo and massage into oiled hair for 2-3 minutes to release excess oil from the hair shaft. Gradually add small amounts of water and work into a lather.

Rinse with warm water. If desired, reapply Peppermint Avocado Shampoo and rinse again.

Pro-Tip: For best results, use one to two days before a color treatment, so your color comes out looking richer and shinier.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I apply if I am not washing my hair?

We recommend that you apply before washing your hair and not as a finishing oil as this is forumulated to eventually be washed out! We suggest our Anti-Frizz Formula 57 if you are looking for a finishing oil.

Can I leave on overnight?

Yes! You can leave the Rejuvenating Oil on overnight and wash out in the morning for a deeper conditioning. If you are nervous about the product getting on your sheets, we recommend using with our Silky Smooth Beanie.

I purchased Philip B. Rejuvenating Oil from Nordstrom's online - the bottle of oil I picked up was in the bag with no seal, no box or packaging.......is this how it is sold? I am used to products in a box with some info sheet usually. Please let me know.: Hi Liz, thanks for reaching out! This product is not shipped in a box and does not have a seal on it. We make sure that the item is stored properly and not used before, however I understand the confusion! On the label there is information on how to use the product and there is also information directly on our website for how to use with additional information. Does this product have protein? And can I leave it on my hair for more than 24 hours?: Hi Alana, thanks for reaching out! This oil has some wonderful products in it that I are really wonderful for rejuvenating your hair, however, we do not have protein as a direct ingredient on our ingredient list. For use of this product, I would recommend for a deep conditioning to use between 1.5-2 hours or leave on overnight. I would suggest overnight to be the longest you leave it on for.
